Ytidica-DSR

Ytidica-DSR is a combination capsule with two active ingredients. Pantoprazole (40 mg) is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) that works by blocking the enzymes responsible for acid production in the stomach. Domperidone (30 mg) is a prokinetic agent that speeds up the movement of food through the stomach and intestines, which helps prevent nausea and vomiting.

Ytidica-DSR is used in gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), acid reflux, heartburn and stomach ulcers. It reduces excess stomach acid and improves digestive tract movement to relieve nausea and bloating. It is typically taken once daily, an hour before breakfast, as directed by the doctor.

The medication is primarily prescribed for:

• Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and acid reflux: relieves the burning sensation in the chest caused by stomach acid flowing back into the food pipe.
• Peptic and intestinal ulcers: helps heal inflammation and ulcers in the stomach lining and small intestine by lowering acid levels.
• Indigestion and gastritis: relieves upper abdominal pain, bloating and gas.
• Nausea and vomiting: alleviates nausea caused by slow stomach emptying or acidity.

While generally well tolerated by most patients, Ytidica-DSR can cause some temporary side effects:

• Dry mouth
• Headache and dizziness
• Diarrhoea or constipation
• Stomach pain or flatulence

• Long-term use: extended use (over a year) may lead to decreased magnesium levels and an increased risk of bone fractures.
• Heart conditions: domperidone can be associated with an increased risk of irregular heart rhythm in certain individuals. It should be used with caution in patients with existing heart problems.
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding: consult your doctor before using Ytidica-DSR if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Do not take Ytidica-DSR:

• If you are allergic to pantoprazole or domperidone, or other components of the capsule.
• If you are taking an anti-HIV medicine like rilpivirine.
• If you have or had bleeding or obstruction in the stomach or intestine.
• If you have liver or kidney related problems.
• If you have prolactin pituitary tumours (tumour of the pituitary gland).
• If you have a heart condition like heart failure, heart rhythm problems, or electrolyte or salt imbalance.

Ytidica-DSR capsules should be taken as directed by the doctor, preferably once a day in the morning, one hour before eating. Swallow the capsule whole with a glass of water.

• Store below 25 °C in a cool and dry place.
• Keep away from children and pets.
